Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee (JBM) is one of the world’s most distinguished and delicious coffees. It is premium priced because of its rare availability and excellent flavor.

Jamaica’s Mountains

Jamaica’s mountains run from east to west across the island. The highest of these are the Blue Mountains, generally situated between Kingston in the south and Port Maria to the north. This lush green landscape is perfectly suited for coffee bean cultivation. The climate is cool and misty, but not too cold. There is high rainfall, excellent drainage, rich soil, and an altitude that reaches 7,402 feet.

JBM is grown within a ten-mile radius of this summit. Beans grown outside of this small region are labelled Jamaican High Mountain, although JBM is actually grown at higher altitudes than most other island coffees.

The delicate balance of climate, soil and altitude produces a sweet and mild taste, lacking in bitterness, with a distinct floral aroma.

JBM is monitored, certified and trademark-protected by the Coffee Industry Board of Jamaica, and has been internationally famous since the eighteenth century. Coffee from the Wallenford Estate is considered this flavour’s “Rolls Royce.”
